    Upon arriving at Highgrove, all staff members will be supplied with a walkie-talkie and instructed to tune it to channel nine. Through these devices, staff may alert other staff to incidents which may need handling, and may call medical or psychiatric staff to the scene.

    Staff Characters Only. The staff lounge is a cosy area for the staff to unwind at the main house, complete with all the usual suspects. Coffee makers, microwave, fridge, tea facilities. It also boasts a number of couches, chairs, and tables.

    Highgrove House has two classrooms, one for each of its teachers. Residents study a standard core curriculum, including all of the necessary subjects required to attain their GCSEs. Highgrove's teachers may work in shifts, or divide the residents into groups to work with, depending on the day and subjects.

    Similar to a greenhouse, the solarium is built onto the side of the main house. It is a sunny and warm indoor hang-out spot, littered with ferns and other plants. A comfortable place to get close to nature without having to be out in it.

    This large addition is double-storey and was added onto the house as extra family rooms during the mid 1800s. Now it serves to house four apartments, for Highgrove's Administrative Staff.

    Located down an off-limits and oft-dreaded hallway, seclusion is comprised of single occupancy rooms with no furniture or comforts. Residents who cause trouble or put themselves or others in danger may find themselves spending the night here. If they're lucky.

    The east wing is comprised of dormitories one through six, housing an equal number of male and female rooms, separated at opposite ends of the wing. These were the first dormitories to open since refurbishment of the second floor. Each dormitory holds six occupants.

    Not for the faint of heart, the disused west wing is supposed to be off limits to residents. It is made up of a labyrinthine network of passages and disused rooms and wards, since the home's funding was slashed in the fifties.

    Built in the late 1920s, the pool house looks more like a greenhouse from a distance. But it is home to the house's old indoor swimming pool, as well as a little refreshment bar and sun loungers. This area is supervised by staff during the day.

    Truth be told, it's not much of a shed, but more of an out-building that houses all the gardening tools and lawn mowers. It's a quite a large building, and the perfect place to get away from prying eyes. Residents assigned to grounds chores will report here during the day.

    The Clinic building was the old carriage house at Highgrove. Now it has been converted into a modest medical clinic, with accommodation for up to three overnight patients, as well as an examination room, a small lab, and the other necessary commodities.

    This is the central hub for security. Everyone going in or out of Highgrove via the main gate have to pass by here, and may be subject to vehicle searches. The gatehouse is also home to the surveillance room and the office for head of security.

    The old chapel was once used as the private family chapel for the Highgrove family. For decades it continued to serve as a place of worship for the children housed at Highgrove through its many incarnations. The chapel closed its doors as a place of worship in the late 1970s and now functions as a library.

  • Lady Highgrove's Rose Garden


    The last of the Highgrove ladies to live at Highgrove House in the 1880s had this quaint, terraced garden built off of the solarium. Roses have been planted and maintained here since, and the terrace offers a warm, sunny place to relax, providing a number of benches and a picnic table.

    This area, adjacent to the long driveway, is frequently used for sporting games or other outdoor activities. It is essentially more of a large lawn than a courtyard, and doesn't offer much more than fresh air, green grass and an impressive view of the front of the house.

    This massive lawn stretches out from the south side of the house right down to the estate's wooded areas and riding trails. It is the perfect place to go for a quiet walk if you're not into the more rural setting of the rest of the grounds.

    The woods have belonged to the Highgrove estate since its founding in the mid 1700s. Previously used for hunting, they now offer walking and riding trails for the residents and staff of the home. Naturally, the estate is now fenced in, to keep the locals out and the residents in.

  • The Farm Allotments


    Highgrove's farming facilities are small and community based. The allotments are Highgroves vegetable gardens, where residents may be assigned to gardening chores to build character and learn new skills. All allotments and paddocks are overseen by the head of agriculture.

    Grove End is a small village located barely a mile from the estate boundaries. The post office & corner shop is as close to civilisation as it gets. It offers newspapers and magazines and some small sundries and snack items. It also boasts quite the collection of old fashioned confectionery.

    Grove End is a small waypoint on one of England's many crisscrossing canals. During the summer, boaters like to stop here for lunch at the pub, or to take in the ambiance of the old village. In the off season, the canal offers a quiet and quaint place to take walks with that special someone, or with Man's Best Friend.

    If you're looking to get away from Highgrove for the night, or if you want to grab some lunch or breakfast in a quaint, county tea room setting, The Haywain is the place for that. The tea room cafe is open from seven o'clock in the morning until 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and offers modest country faire.

  • The Market Place


    Only open on weekends and the first Thursday of the month, the market place hosts all the farm fruit and vegetable stands, a butcher's stand, and a cattle market. Other stalls frequently appear here, including snack stands, clothing and nick-knack stalls and a baker's truck. Sadly, this is the place to be on a Saturday.
